Fun and games aside, any landlord-restauranteur who will assault his son in front of customers/staff/tenants is someone who is in need of some help and possibly some time locked up. I’m glad Hugo is dangerous.
I’m thinking this was a test. Dorado is disappointed that his son has done nothing with his life, so he has been trying to force a confrontation between them. So Hugo would stand up to him.
She was not very dark in that role, however. She even had a much fancier name/title, which I seem to have forgotten. But it was something of a lifestyle, trendsetter occupation. Much unlike her current occupation: collecting local news. Or was it trainspotting?
I would love to be your first patron! its free money! (I do not work for, no have ever, for Patreon tm). They do Sterling (is that the fancy word for pounds?). One comic-artist I patronize earns 4K/month (your mileage may vary).
Whelp, this is pretty damn funny reading this here in the future! Glad the Patreon thing did come to pass. Enjoy sending sheckles your way in return for great stuff like this.
don’t say knife i was just looking at the back archives don’t say KNIFE
You could cut the tension with a pair of children’s safety scissors.

Love Hugo’s expression in the first panel especially. Fierce, defiant, uncowed.
New Life Goal: Be referred to as someone’s Dark Queen.
Esther might know what that’s like, too.
Also, Erin (future Erin) could definitely tell you all about this, in excruciating detail, as she was (will be?) literally the queen of Hell.

Mordawwa.
High Priestess of the Underworld.
In the words of Bob Dylan: “There’s fist-fights in the kitchen, It’s enough to make me cry …”
Enquiring minds would love to know of there is a British version of Patreon.
I don’t have a Patreon!
