I’m mildly surprised to learn that Ryan has a tattoo. I didn’t think he walked quite that close to the wild side. “Wild side” being an extremely objective concept, of course, but I think Ryan would classify tattoos as falling into that category . 🙂
If he’s been depicted with a tattoo before this — or, rather, after this, in the future worlds of SGR and Bad Machinery — well, that’s a detail that I’d easily forget presuming that I noticed it in the first place.
I might be misremebering, but I think he’s been shown to have a Black Flag tattoo on his arm in previous strips.
I don’t think Ryan would give tattoos the side eye! He’s certainly experienced far wilder in other adventures.
There’s a SGR flashback episode where Shelly and Amy go to get tattoos in Portland, but I don’t remember if Shelly ends up getting one or chickens out.
A bit surprising that Ljubjana’s got a domestic streak. She’ll be after Ryan to raid a better grade of skip for his household furnishings before we know it.
Bedbugs are serious business, people. Last time I had them was a hellish three weeks. I started sleeping in car until I realized that I could catch them all by using myself as bait. Don’t laugh; it worked. But for a short time I could identify with the homeless.
Ugh. I’ve been fortunate enough to only have them in hotel rooms, and that was nightmarish enough. If they got into my house I would probably burn it down and burn all my clothes.
Never had bedbugs, never moved furniture off the street into my house. I don’t know if the two are related…
If bedbugs evolved to infest traffic cones, my student years would have been itchy though.
This has been a tantalizing series of events and I’ve looked forward to each installment a great deal. Thanks for the great writing – I love your work!

Neither! IIRC, she ends up getting distracted by talking to a mouse. Which is a typical option Shelley in any yes/no situation.
She then justifies her choice by likening herself to Popeye.
That should of course have been “extremely SUBJECTIVE concept.” Sorry about that. 😐

Ryan seems excited to learn he may have pets!

For a good sex person…
Ljubjana has a way with words, despite (or maybe because) English is not her first language.
…despite (or maybe because of) English not being her first language.
Just wanted to make it clear English IS my first language, and this damn website won’t let me edit or delete comments (as far as I can tell).
Is – is that Death’s Head 2?

Plot twist: It turns out the question about bedbugs was not asked by Ljubjana, it was asked by a bedbug.
I have a sudden strong urge to start a band and call it Old Man Choices
