Good to see you back.
It’s a pity more comic authors don’t have a buffer of issues to publish when they’re ill or whatever.

It’s so funny seeing young Amy’s feelings about Ryan in hindsight. Also I find it supremely ironic that in the end Tim proves to be the constant screw-up while Ryan becomes the responsible family man with a steady teaching job.
Had not realized this. Perhaps there is still hope for me.
Let’s be sensible about this, John.
I thought Amy might just be trying to deflect Ljubjana’s interest from Ryan, if only for Ryan’s own good. 🙂
Tim ended up as a constant screw-up? Wouldn’t he still be a responsible family man himself if his DAUGHTER hadn’t burned down his house and his wife hadn’t left HIM, not the other way around? Either way, I suppose that now, in this strip’s future a few years ago, he gets to be a responsible family man all over again with Shelley and Peggy.
Well, there’s the renewable energy source that generated devil bears.
Do we know how it will work out with Shelley? That situation seems a recipe for disaster.
On the other hand that my just make Tim and Shelley perfect for each other.
Indeed. I meant in general with most of his scientific shenanigans bringing great peril to him, his friends and family and all of Tackleford.
“Tim ended up as a constant screw-up?”
YEP.
By the way, which X-Women Amy really is? Rogue, Magik, Kitty Pryde maybe? She’s definitely NOT Emma Frost.
Magik with better bon mots. I can see an alternate universe where she’s totally the White Queen though!
Except Magik is totally Erin, what with all the hell dimension stuff…
Just re-read the bobbins.horse strips from start to finish, & it’s given me a new appreciation for how well you are crafting the travels & travails of the characters. From a daily strips perspective it just seems like ‘good old Shelley, good old Amy, good old Ryan’, but there are real story-lines of emotional growth going on for each of them, & it’s giving them nuances they didn’t have before. Lovely work.
Thanks Stefan!
If you haven’t already read them, John’s other works are very well written too. My favorites are the Bad Machinery stories. “The Case of the Good Boy” is where I first encountered John’s work and I was sucked right in.
Thanks for all of the great material John! I’m getting to introduce my kids to them now that they’re old enough to appreciate them.
THIS.
does ryan know he has been selected for a “date”?
I was wondering the same thing.
She gave him her number. That’s it. That means he is going to have a good time whether he wants to or not.
Amy is not exactly an amazing wingman is she?
I can’t believe I’ve only just realized Ljubljana’s look really is Mister Sinister. Shocking.
Here is hoping that this means you have recovered completely.
I always enjoy reading your work.
Also, I would like to quote Amy Chilton, with your permission.
